Mario Maurer and Erich Gonzales’ Movie is Called ‘Suddenly It’s Magic’

Mario Maurer, the Thai heartthrob who took Asia by storm by his movies “The Love of Siam” and “Crazy Little Thing Called Love,” has inked a one-movie project with Star Cinema.

Mario Maurer is being paired with Maria la del Barrio star Erich Gonzales in the said movie project with a working title “Suddenly It’s Magic.”

Maurer signed a one-movie contract with Star Cinema on Wednesday. He also revealed that the film is going to be shot in Thailand and the Philippines and that it is slated to be shown in 2012.

He is looking forward to meet Erich Gonzales, his upcoming leading lady in the movie, very soon.

The Thai actor arrived in Manila on Wednesday to shoot an ad campaign for Penshoppe.

Tomorrow, October 28, he will be at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) for his fan conference and on October 29, he is set to headline the Philippine Fashion Week at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

Li Bing Bing to play Ada Wong in new "Resident Evil" film

TORONTO: Chinese actress Li Bing Bing will join the cast of the upcoming Hollywood sci-fi horror film "Resident Evil: Retribution", the fifth installment in the "Resident Evil" film series.

Hollywood actress Milla Jovovich, who plays the lead character Alice in "Resident Evil: Retribution", announced via Twitter on Tuesday that Li will play the mysterious secret agent Ada Wong in the film.

"Resident Evil: Retribution", which is directed by Jovovich's husband Paul Anderson, is expected to be released in September next year.

The "Resident Evil" films were inspired by a popular survival-horror video game series of the same name, that pits players against zombies, mutant dogs and various other abominations.

The films feature many characters from the games though their storylines differ quite significantly from that of the games.

"Resident Evil: Afterlife",the latest film in the series, grossed a whopping US$300 million (S$383 million) worldwide.

Actor Kyle Chandler grew up in Georgia, where he helped to take care of their family farm. He eventually went to college at the nearby University of Georgia, where he majored in Drama. The parts steadily became bigger and more numerous, eventually leading to the starring role of Gary Hobson on the TV series drama Early Edition and the role of Bruce Baxter in 2005's King Kong.

Chandler also guest-starred in a memorable post-Super Bowl two-part on the medical drama series Grey's Anatomy, playing a bomb squad leader who comes to the hospital when a patient is admitted who has unexploded munitions lodged in his chest, thanks to his attempt to make a homemade bazooka. Chandler's performance was so impressive that he was later nominated for an Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series Emmy. Following that, he landed the starring role of head coach Eric Taylor on Friday Night Lights, a show based on the movie of the same name, about a small town in Texas where high-school football is among the most important things in life. In 2007, he could also be seen in the Jamie Foxx political thriller, The Kingdom.

What's there to say about Early Edition besides the fact that it's the best tv series on this side of the world. It has everything, good actors, more then enough directors and the plot. The plot, a guy Gary Hobson get's tomorrow's Chicago Sun - Times today, he knows what will happen in the future, a thing that one should be very careful with. His personal mission, to save the world, or at least the ones he can save in his territory, the great city of Chicago. Every day, he goes out to save the world, sometimes with his blind friend, Melissa, sometimes with Chuck (Fisher Adams), a friend that wants to place bets with the aid of the paper. Shortly told, a plot to adore, a plot that has a lot of room for different subjects. On the background Chicago and a man who's saving the life's of his fellow-Chicago citizens.

Damon Wayans: Favorite Male Performer In a New TV Series

In 1990 comedian Damon Wayans burst onto the television scene with In Living Color, an outrageously funny and often controversial comedy show broadcast on the Fox Network. Each week, the half-hour variety show parodied life in America, with one big distinction, its street-smart, urban perspective. He then moved on to appear in numerous films. In 2001 Wayans debuted in another, though far less controversial, hit television comedy series, My Wife and Kids.

Born in 1961 and raised in the Chelsea district of New York City as one of 11 children, Wayans learned the value of a family. Though they were poor, he doesn't hold any bad memories of his childhood. In fact, Wayans credited his upbringing for much of his comic ability, where as children and his siblings would stretch their imaginations with a game of "make me laugh or die."

The popularity of In Living Color made him especially adept at mimicking people like Louis Farrakhan. But his self-created characters Homey the Clown, Anton the Bum, and Handi-Man (a handicapped superhero) distinguished him from the rest of the ensemble and made Damon Wayans one of the most popular cast members.

Next Wayans developed the comedy TV series, Damon, which debuted mid-season in 1998. Wayans played an undercover Chicago police officer and David Allen Grier--also of In Living Color fame-- took on the role of Wayans' inept younger brother. Wayans assumes numerous disguises throughout the course of his undercover work. People Weekly's Terry Kelleher noted that "Wayans comes alive" when he puts on a disguise and presents a comic caricature, but that "when the cop is himself, the star is on autopilot." The series was not renewed for a second season.

Wayans served as producer and co-creator of the tv show “My Wife and Kids”. In 2002 My Wife and Kids won a People's Choice Award for Favorite New TV Comedy series. Wayans also garnered the Favorite Male Performer in a New TV Series award. Wayans was next set to appear in a full-length film version of Homey the Clown.

Emmy Awards for outstanding writing in a variety program, for In Living Color, 1991 and 1992; Soul Train Comedy Award for best actor in a TV sketch comedy role, 1993; People's Choice Awards, Favorite Male Performer In a New Television Series, 2002.

Born in Caldwell, New Jersey on March 8, 1961, Manheim was raised in Peoria, Illinois and Long Beach California, the daughter of a math professor father and school teacher mother. She developed an interest in acting after attending a Renaissance fair at the age of sixteen, and she went on to get a Masters in Fine Arts from New York University in 1987. After graduating, Manheim made her screen debut with a miniscule role in Bonfire of the Vanities in 1990. A long series of similarly minor roles in films ranging from Jeffrey (1995) to Romy and Michele's High School Reunion (1997) followed before she was cast in The Practice in 1997. After winning fame and an Emmy for her work on the show, Manheim gained additional exposure and respect with her role as a denizen of Todd Solondz's dysfunctional New Jersey suburbia in the acclaimed Happiness (1998). The following year, in addition to winning a Golden Globe and another Emmy nomination for her portrayal of Ellenor Frutt, Manheim continued to act in films, appearing in Fools Gold and Joe the King, both of which were shown at the 1999 Sundance Festival.

Swayze bounced back in the 2000s, in a key role in the Jake Gyllenhaal film Donnie Darko (2001). His other films include Road House, To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar and Green Dragon. He began starring as a rogue FBI agent in the TV series The Beast in 2008, but he was soon incapacitated by pancreatic cancer and died in September of 2009.

The National Enquirer reported in March of 2008 that Swayze was ill with pancreatic cancer and had five weeks to live. Swayze announced that he did have pancreatic cancer but had been given no such timeline. He went on to begin filming episodes of his TV series The Beast while undergoing treatment.

Patrick Swayze passed away last September 14, 2009 at home with his family. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and his condition took a turn for the worse earlier this year. He was 57 years old. Swayze is survived by his wife, who he's been with since he was 18 years old, Lisa Niemi. Patrick has a very special place in our hearts for many of his movies like Ghost and Point Break to name a couple, but perhaps most of all for Dirty Dancing. Our thoughts are with his loved ones, and he will be missed.

Disregarding an unsold pilot film starring Cathy Lee Crosby as the title character, William Moulton Marston's celebrated comic-book super heroine Wonder Woman made her TV bow in the formidable person of Lynda Carter. Introduced on November 7, 1975, with the two-hour opener The New Original Wonder Woman, the ABC fantasy adventure series began its semi-weekly run on April 21, 1976. Christian began acting work in TV commercials as a young boy. His first screen role came when he was all of 13. For starters, Tessie Santiago, born as Tessie Marie Santiago, is of Cuban descent. She was born in Miami, Florida on August 10, 1975. Victoria grew up in a small town in northern Ontario, Canada called Chesley. From an early age Victoria decided she was going to change all that and put Chesley on the map. Being a tomboy she dreamt of becoming a star the only way she knew how, through sports.

This fair-haired actress Victoria Pratt was set on quite a different career path before becoming interested in acting. She attended York University in Toronto, where she earned a degree in Kinesiology, and she went on to work in the University's Human Performance Lab, testing athletes from teams like the Toronto Maple Leafs and the San Jose Sharks. She was even offered a scholarship for the Physiotherapy master's program at the University of Toronto, but so she turned it down. She co-authored a book on fitness with one of her University professors, and worked as a professional fitness model, which is how she met Robert Kennedy, the publisher of MuscleMag. He suggested that Pratt enroll in acting classes, and soon after taking his advice, the model turned actress scored a role on the sci-fi tv series Cleopatra 2525 as Rose, otherwise known as "Sarge." She stuck with science fiction, later scoring roles on the series Mutant X and Day Break, and the female lead, opposite Rick Schroder, in the TV adaptation Journey to the Center of the Earth in 2008.

Victoria has been in talks with Fireworks Entertainment and Tribune Entertainment about their new Marvel TV series Mutant X. Both co-producing companies are very interested in Victoria for a series lead part called Shalimar Fox. In fact they have written the role with Vicky in mind. The upside is that the show has been green lit for two seasons without a pilot. There are only two catches. There is not a script yet to read and Victoria must test for the part and the testing is scheduled at the very end of pilot season. What to do? It's not really a bird in the hand, its just feathers.

Mutant X has great ratings and consequently more and more magazines are calling to book pictorials and cover shoots with Victoria. She is a woman who was meant to share her life with us, by being in front of the camera.

Ron Ely as TARZAN

Native Texan Ronald Pierce “Ron” Ely was born on 1938. In The mid 1950s, he enrolled at the University of Texas, but he soon made his way to California. After signing with 20th Century Fox in the late 1950s, Ely appeared in small roles in several films and television series, including the films South Pacific and The Remarkable Mr. Pennypacker and the TV series How to Marry a Millionaire. In 1960 Ely was cast in the CBS series The Aquanauts, but the show was cancelled after just one season. Several more films followed, but his big break did not come until 1966, when the 6'4" actor was cast in the role of Tarzan for the TV series of the same name.

Ely had tried out for the role of Tarzan, but he lost out to football player turned to actor. Mark Henry made three Tarzan films and was originally cast for the series, but he declined it after some bad experiences while shooting his first Tarzan film. Ely was then cast in the role.

After a number of attempts to create a Tarzan TV series had failed, producer Sy Weintraub finally was able to bring Tarzan to the small screen. Tarzan aired on NBC beginning in September 1966 and lasted until September 1968. In the series, there is no Jane in sight. Tarzan is assisted only by Cheetah and Jai, an orphan. Citing sagging ratings and rising production costs, NBC canceled Tarzan in 1968. Throughout the run of the series, several films were released, mostly using footage from the series. In the early 1970s, Ely made a number of films in Germany, where he became very popular in a brief series of adventure films. His next hit would come with the release of Doc Savage.

In the past few years, Ely has cooled his acting career, focusing instead on writing mystery novels focusing on the character, Jake Sands. His novels are titled Night Shadows and East Beach, both published in the mid 1990s. But on occasion, Ely makes appearances on popular TV shows, his most recent being Sheena and Renegade.

Charlie's Angels was one of the most successful action series that was shown on Tv during the 70's. The show had a great mix of action and humor that attracted audiences from both sexes. It was such a huge hit that it spawned two much deserved movies three decades later, as well as several comic books and other spin offs.

This series about female private investigators also turned out to be ground breaking. During those years, all of the action TV series aired have male protagonists and are oriented towards men. Many of the female characters often portrayed as the damsel in distress that the hero must save, or in some cases, reduced to minor roles. Charlie's Angels changed the scene as it was the first show that put women into roles that are originally restricted only to males.

And of course, the show's success also proved to be very rewarding to both the franchise and the cast. Obviously, the initial success of the show allowed for spin offs. On the other hand, the show's success proved to be a good boost to the careers of the cast.

So now, it's time to ask: whatever happened to the original Angels? Luckily, it can be said that all of the main cast went on to have successful careers. They also went on to have rather colorful lives.

John Forsythe, the voice behind Charlie, the enigmatic boss of the Angels, though not seen all throughout the series, proved to be as popular as the three girls themselves. She also received numerous awards, including three Emmys and a Golden Globe, for her outstanding performance in various dramatic roles. Fawcett died at the age of 62 last June 25 after a long battle with anal cancer.

Kate Jackson (played Sabrina Duncan) also proved to be very successful after her stint as an angel. She went on to star in the very successful action series Scarecrow and Ms. King. She also went on to reap numerous awards for her performance in various shows and movies. Notably, she was the first one to receive an Emmy nomination for her work in Charlie's Angels. Jackson is also a cancer survivor and is now a spokeswoman for the American Heart Association.

Last but not the least is Jacklyn Smith, who portrayed Kelly Garett, who also proved to be very successful. Notably, she was the last of the original Angels to remain with the series until its end in 1981. She also went on to star in many other TV shows, which proved a success in their own rights. Fran was born on September 30, 1957 at Flushing, New York, USA. In early life, she became first runner-up for "Miss New York Teenager" in 1973.
